The Museum holds a small but growing archive of items relating to the exhibits we have on display.

The steam locomotive is the primary subject.

As well as paper documents, an audio archive has been established with recordings of interviews with former railwaymen.

A catalogue of the paper documents is under preparation and once published will be accessible here for viewing.  Facilities to view this archive at Ingrow can be made by prior appointment.

Access to the audio archive is not yet available, although it is intended to provide links here to download short extracts.

Through the courtesy of Mortons Media, facilities are available in the Learning Coach to view the on-line archive of The Railway Magazine.  Please contact Matt Arnold for more information

The video below is based on a 35mm filmstrip from 1947, which together with an accompanying script, was a method of providing educational programmes in that era. Another LMS filmstrip, depicting the places served by the LMS, is shown on one of the screens in the DLS compartment of the Learning Coach at Ingrow.
